Community Guidelines

These rules apply to everyone on KoLesson: members, moderators, admins and owners, in every community, in public posts and in private messages.

Last updated 9 October 2026

In short

  • Be the kind of member you would want in your own community.
  • No harassment, hate, sexual content, violence, illegal content, scams, spam or impersonation.
  • You can report any post, comment, message or member, and block any member.
  • Reports go to the community's moderators, who must look at them within 24 hours. Reports sent to KoLesson are reviewed within 24 hours.
  • Content that breaks these rules is removed. People who break them can be suspended or removed for good.

1.Where these rules apply

Everywhere on KoLesson: posts, comments, polls, direct messages, profiles (your name, photo, bio and links), courses, lessons, videos, events, and a community's own name, description and public page.

A community's owner can add rules of their own for their community. Those can be stricter than these guidelines but never looser. These guidelines are part of the Terms of Use.

2.What is not allowed

Harassment and bullying

Do not threaten, insult, intimidate, stalk or humiliate anyone. Do not keep contacting someone who has asked you to stop, encourage others to pile on to someone, or wish harm on anyone.

Hate

Do not attack or demean people because of their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability or serious illness. Do not use slurs, symbols or stereotypes to do so.

Sexual content

No pornography, no nudity or sexual acts shown or described in an explicit way, and no offering or asking for sexual services. Any sexual content involving a person under 18, or that sexualises children in any way, is forbidden absolutely: we remove it, close the account, and report it to the authorities.

Violence and dangerous content

Do not post threats, praise or encourage violence or terrorism, show gore to shock, or promote or give instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders.

Illegal content and activity

Do not use KoLesson to break the law or help others to. That includes fraud and money laundering, selling illegal drugs, weapons or stolen goods, human trafficking, and sharing material you know to be unlawful.

Scams, spam and misleading claims

No pyramid or Ponzi schemes, fake investment or "guaranteed income" offers, phishing, or requests for money made under false pretences. Do not post the same thing repeatedly, send unwanted bulk messages, or advertise in a community without its owner's permission. Do not make false or unprovable claims about what a course or product will earn or cure.

Impersonation

Do not pretend to be another person, a company, a community's team or KoLesson. Do not use someone else's name or photo to mislead.

Other people's privacy

Do not share someone's private information (home address, phone number, identity documents, bank details, private messages or private photos) without their permission. Do not record or screenshot members' posts to shame them elsewhere.

Other people's work

Post only what you have the right to post. Do not share copied courses, books, films, software or other material that belongs to someone else without permission. Rights owners can use the copyright route in the Terms of Use.

Harm to the service

No malware, no attempts to break into accounts, no automated collection of members' details, and no getting round a block, a suspension or a removal by creating another account.

3.If you run a community

Owners, admins and moderators are held to the same rules as members, and to these as well:

  • Look at every report from your members within 24 hours, and act on it: remove content that breaks these guidelines and remove or suspend the member where needed.
  • Do not run a community whose purpose is something these guidelines forbid.
  • Be honest about what you sell: what members get, what it costs, and how to get a refund.
  • Do not use your access to members' details for anything they would not expect.

4.How to report

  • A post or a comment: open its menu (the three dots) and choose "Report".
  • A direct message: press and hold the message, or open its menu, and choose "Report message".
  • A member: open their profile, open the menu, and choose "Report" followed by their name.

Choose a reason and, if you like, add a note. The person you report is not told who reported them.

To report straight to KoLesson, including when you are not a member, when the problem is the community's own team, or when a report inside the community has not been answered, use the form on the Support page and choose "Report content or a person". Tell us the community's address and what we should look at.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. KoLesson is not an emergency service.

5.How to block someone

Open the member's profile, open the menu, and choose "Block" followed by their name. From then on you do not see their posts, comments or messages and they do not see yours, in every community you share. They are not told. You can undo it in Settings, under Blocked people.

A community's own team cannot be blocked inside their community, because they need to be able to moderate it. If the problem is with the team, report it to KoLesson.

6.What happens after a report

Inside a community, a report goes to that community's moderators. Under our terms they must look at it within 24 hours. They can dismiss it, remove the post, comment or message, or suspend or remove the member. Reports about the same thing are handled together, and every decision is recorded in the community's activity log.

Reports sent to KoLesson are reviewed by us within 24 hours. Where a report of objectionable content is upheld we remove the content and remove the person who posted it from the service. We can also pause a whole community.

7.What happens if you break these rules

Depending on how serious it is and whether it has happened before:

  • the content is removed;
  • you are suspended or removed from the community by its team;
  • your KoLesson account is suspended or closed by us, in every community;
  • a community that breaks these rules, or does not moderate, is paused or closed;
  • where the law requires it, or someone is at risk, we report to the authorities.

The most serious breaches, such as sexual content involving children, credible threats of violence and fraud, lead to removal at once, without a warning.

8.If you think we got it wrong

If a community's team removed your content or removed you, ask them first: the decision is theirs. If KoLesson removed your content or closed your account, or you believe a community's team acted against these guidelines, write to us through the Support page. A person will look at it again.
